BIO

I am a Fifth Year graduate student at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. My research interests are diverse as I've cultivated broad interests in Earth, ocean, and environmental sciences, focusing on geologic hazards in the ocean environment. I've approached these problems using a variety of tools. Some of the work I've done has been aiding in the design and construction of fiber optic geophysical and oceanographic sensors, as well the operation and deployment of AUVs, ROVs, and other equipment to explore Earth and our oceans, and numerical modeling of landslides and wave propagation and comparsion to actual events. One of the most thrilling parts of my graduate experience has been the opportunity to work closely with passionate scientists, as well as industrial and government organizations to characterize hazards offshore California and in the Gulf of Mexico, and to help develop new environmental sensors.

Research

Gaviota Slide My research mostly focuses on slope stability -- or underwater landslides -- and their environmental and industrial implications.

Earth, Oceans, and Energy

Our Future My generation faces the challenge of abating climate change and other ecological issues while sustaining economic growth. These things may help.

Volunteer Interests

Volunteer Interests I have always enjoyed volunteer work and charity and I support these causes.
